(Greenville, SC.-January 23, 2007). American Leprosy Missions (ALM) honored the members of its Greenville Steering Committee for the Centennial Vaccine Campaign during a luncheon held on Monday, January 22. The dedicated members of the committee served faithfully raising a total of $483,000 toward vaccine research.

Monday’s luncheon marked the conclusion of a three-year campaign and included a conference call with the Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI) located in Seattle, Washington.

ALM’s partnership with IDRI has been ground-breaking. IDRI currently expects to begin manufacturing the world’s first leprosy vaccine in 2008.

Established in 1906, American Leprosy Missions is the oldest and largest non-profit organization in the United States providing cure and care to people affected by leprosy.
