American Leprosy Missions Receives Estate Gift of $1.4 Million Dollars

(Greenville, SC.—September 5, 2007). Greenville-based American Leprosy Missions (ALM) recently received $1.4 million from the estate of Dororthy Marron formerly of New Jersey.

"This is the second largest legacy gift in ALM’s 101 year history," said Christopher J. Doyle, president of ALM. "We are both grateful and humbled by Ms. Marron’s generosity as a donor to ALM while she was living and even after her death." Dorothy Marron had been an ALM donor since 1993.

ALM plans to use the funds for the Deliver the Cure campaign to reach children who suffer from leprosy around the world. In addition, ALM will establish a scholarship in memory of Dorothy Marron for students in Greenville County who plan to enter overseas development or Christian foreign mission work.

American Leprosy Missions worldwide headquarters is located in Greenville, SC. ALM is the oldest and largest non-profit organization in the United States providing cure and care to people affected by leprosy. For more information about ALM’s global ministry please visit deliverthecure.org.
