One of Greenville’s “Most Influential” Joins Board of Directors for American Leprosy Missions
(Greenville, SC—January 29, 2008) Mr. Jody Bryson has accepted an appointment to the Board of Directors for American Leprosy Missions (ALM). Bryson was recently named one of Greenville’s 50 Most Influential people by Greenville Magazine. He is currently the Executive Director for Donaldson Development Commission.
Bryson comes to ALM’s board with a strong background in business leadership and development. After serving as a Major Gifts Officer for ALM from 1999 to 2000, he was Vice President of Public Policy for the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce. He then served as the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for ARCADIS. Before becoming the Executive Director for Donaldson Development Commission, he was the Vice President for Investor and Public Relations for Upstate SC Alliance.
Now, as Bryson steps into a new role of service, he is excited about once again being a part of ALM. “As a former employee of ALM, I have witnessed first-hand the eternal impact this ministry provides in continuing Christ’s legacy of healing to those who can least afford it. I am honored by the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors of American Leprosy Missions, an organization that brings hope and healing to the many men, women and children who suffer from this cruel and disfiguring disease,” he says.
Christopher J. Doyle, President of ALM, welcomes Bryson as an addition to the board saying, “Jody was a very valuable member of the development staff when he worked at ALM. He was not just a fundraiser but a friend-raiser. He was one of the best “ambassadors” ALM has ever had and I am excited to have him joining our board of directors.”
Bryson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Clemson University and holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina. He and his wife Jenni live in Greenville with their three children, Will, Jennings and Ben.
American Leprosy Missions is the oldest and largest organization in the United States dedicated to restoring hope and healing to people affected by leprosy and related conditions around the world. ALM uses systemic, holistic programs to combat and, whenever possible, reverse the physical, spiritual, socio-economic, and educational erosion that devastates the lives of those affected by this disease.
