International Staff | Short Term Opportunities
TLMI International Staff:
EAST ASIA / PACIFIC
Finance Consultant – Dhaka, Bangladesh
TLM Bangladesh requires an experienced Financial professional with at least five years previous experience in a senior role. Based in the coordination office in Dhaka you will provide leadership and financial guidance on key financial and accounting issues; develop and implement a country wide financial strategy and develop the financial skills and knowledge of national staff within the TLM Bangladesh Programme. Senior management experience, strong inter-personal and communication skills and previous experience working in an International NGO are desirable.
Medical Advisor – Nilphamari, Bangladesh
A physician with at least 5 years experience in either tropical and infectious disease control or dermatology is required for the role of Medical Advisor based in Northwest Bangladesh. You will be required to advise the Rural Health Programme and DBLM Hospital on medical issues relating to leprosy, develop and undertake training courses for medical staff and assist in medical research. Proven experience in training, strong inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills, and previous experience of living and working in a cross-cultural environment are a advantage.

Project Manager – Capacity Building Project – Dili, East Timor
We require an experienced project manager to manage the Capacity Building Project of the National Leprosy Programme in Timor Leste. Working with the Ministry of Health, WHO and other NGO’s you will manage the implementation, administration and finance of the project.
Requirements: You must have previous experience in project management within a development context, preferably in South East Asia, with at least 2-3 years experience in leprosy control programmes, prevention of disability and physical rehabilitation in both community and hospital settings. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Indonesian or Portuguese would be an advantage.
Project Manager – Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Enablement Project
This post offers an exciting opportunity to develop the CBR Empowerment Project in order to facilitate sustainable integrated CBR and self care for people affected by leprosy and people with general disabilities throughout Timor Leste. Working with the communities and alongside the Ministry of Health and other NGO’s you will develop and manage the implementation, administration and finance of this new project. You will also be required to develop a disability and CBR working group, establish sustainable CBR within the country and train and develop local staff in CBR.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be fluent in written and spoken English. SOUTH ASIA
Medical Superintendent / Surgeon – Nepal
An experienced Surgeon is required to be responsible for all medical issues at Anandaban Hospital, 15 KM south of Kathmandu city in Nepal and to provide surgical services including reconstructive surgery in leprosy, plastic, hand and orthopaedic surgery. The Medical Superintendent will also be responsible for developing a training programme within the hospital and medical related administration. You will be a qualified surgeon with experience in orthopaedic or plastic surgery, have proven leadership and communication skills, be fluent in English and willing to learn Nepali. Experience in working in a developing country would be an advantage. Training on the medical aspects of leprosy will be given.

Physiotherapist – Danja, Niger
An experienced Physiotherapist is required to be responsible for the physiotherapy and Prevention of disability services at CSL Danja. You will be required to have at least 3 years post qualification experience, the ability to motivate and train staff, strong inter-personal skills, be fluent in English and willing to learn French and Hausa. Experience in working in a developing country would be an advantage.

Medical Electives – Medical Students, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists
Medical students, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and nurses are invited to put knowledge into practice on a six to eight week placement. Working alongside our experienced medical professionals in a hospital or community environment, you will learn vital skills that help to relieve the impact of this highly curable disease. We currently have placements in India and Nepal.
