One day Fulo’s mother noticed a pale patch of skin on Fulo’s side. So Fulo, her oldest sister and their parents walked in the hot sun and then took a long bus ride to the hospital. Five-year-old Fulo wore her best dress for the journey.
When they arrived, the doctor told them little Fulo had leprosy. Fulo’s mother started to cry and her father got very quiet. The family was frightened because they had seen people deformed from leprosy. But the doctor told them it was good they had come to the hospital so quickly and that if Fulo takes her medicine every day she will be completely cured and her skin patches will disappear. Fulo’s family was so thankful and relieved.
Thank you for your compassionate support which helps cure little girls like Fulo.
